First flight!

(Another late post...oh well...)

So... a month and a half ago, we took Emmett on his first flight when we went to California for Spring Break. We had a great time visiting friends in San Francisco and San Diego. We flew into San Francisco and stayed in a hotel downtown near Chinatown, and we got to see college and high school friends. So fun!

So excited to be in Emily's wedding next year! Love this girl. :)

After a couple days in San Francisco, we headed down to Morro Bay and stayed overnight. That night at the hotel, we got take out burgers and watched The Bachelor finale on Hulu. :) (Stupid Ben, by the way...)

That morning, we drove all the way down to San Diego to see some friends from high school and their baby Asher. And we got to see a friend from college for dinner one night as well! We stayed in Del Mar for 2 nights and did a lot of visiting and watching the babies play together. :) We also did some wandering and visited the first mission in San Diego for a little history lesson. One of the highlights was definitely walking around La Jolla and watching the seals and sea lions on the beaches. I was so entertained.

Great Spring Break trip! We really got to see so many people and get a little taste of different parts of California. Thanks to all of our friends for showing us a good time! Can't wait to get out there again...and we DO get to go to San Francisco again next summer for Emily and Bryan's wedding in July 2013. Woo hoo!

And traveling with Emmett was pretty good. He was a trooper on the flights, and he did pretty well sleeping in the PeaPod (little sleep tent). It was slower going than probably our no-kid travels used to be, but that's okay. We would do it again - just not back-to-back trips or anything. You need a little rest and normalcy for a while, and then the travel bug will hit again eventually, I'm sure. I think we went at a good time, when Emmett wasn't crawling yet, so the plane ride wasn't bad at all. Now that Emmett is wanting to move all the time, I'm not so sure how the flight would go... We'll see... No flights planned for any trips yet, but you never know. The only travels we have planned this year involve driving, and we can handle that! (famous last words???)
